PLAGIARISM !! Say 'NO' To It !!

Plagiarism !...most of us are pretty familiar with this word in blogland !! It's really disgusting to see somebody stealing your article or picture and reusing it without mentioning the proper source at all...!!

Ethnic Home Decor Store is using my picture without my permission and doesn't even bother to give due credit to the actual source. I have written to them/ her to either acknowledge my work OR, to remove the picture completely from The Article, but this has gone in vain.

My regular readers, followers, my bloggy pals...you must have been familiar with this picture from My Blog,

which was also my old banner and till date you can find it on my sidebar....!  This picture from my post is being used without my permission. I have commented on the particular post  but it has been deleted by The Website  owner. Isn't this really disgusting???

Here is the WEBSITE  and the post  Three Must Have Accessories For Indian Inspired Home Decor which has stolen my picture and clandestinely used it.

I've already found that a number of blogs/ websites are using my photographs...[but so long as they are acknowledging the source and providing due credit with the link to my blogsite, I have no qualms]...If someone is really interested in my work/ blog/ photos and would like to use them, I would appreciate if the person approaches me with an email!

Friends, I Need Your Help to end this menace!....The next victim can be anyone from you. Let us fight Plagiarism together! Say 'NO' to it !!

I am with you S! I just went to this site, and I see that your pic is still up there. There is a procedure to be followed to take action against them - I believe I did a bit of research on this some time back, and I shall dig into my archives to see if I can share it with you.
Let's fight Plagiarism together!

so sad.. happened to me when a blog copied my entire article without asking.. I didn't get any answer from that person and she deleted my comment..I let it go because she had quoted the source at least. The best thing is to watermark your pics before loading.Thieves or those who don't want to give credit will think twice before stealing it.

Hi. I think one way of stopping plagiarism is watermarking the pics. Plagiarism has become a very common prob in blogging. So we need to be really careful. And we all should come together to stop it. there can be different way of using your pic inspire of using watermark but u still need to secure your pics.

It's a shame that people copy pictures and content and post it as their own. Unfortunately, there is little one can do in this virtual world. We are with you Sanghamitra, we must figure out a way to fight this out.

This is so irritating and sad! The picture is still on the website as of now. I am wondering if all of us should go on that website and leave comments about "not using someone's pictures without permission". The owner might delete them but at least he or she will get the message :(

Sanghamitra Bhattacherjee(Mukherjee) said...

Thanks a million Simran!
Yes, this is indeed very sad :(...And if all of you can do so....you know, I will be more than happy !:)

Thats pathetic..how can someone copy someone else's work..? Its so so pathetic.

I hope that person 'awakes' and removes your picture soon.

I started watermarking my pictures a few days back to keep them from being copied.

This is pathetic. We need to comment on the site that the original picture belongs to you and they need to give you the due credit!!!

GReat post. I think if you contact them, they should definitely acknowledge who the pic is from. How pathetic to steal another's photos or work. Hope this helps to spread the word. Hugs, Marty

@Marty~Thanks a million!
Am writing to them, again and again but no response. I don't think they will acknowledge my work! They should remove my picture from their website.
Thanks once again for your support!
