Jewel Toned Shimmer

So for some days
I love old fashioned elegance.

Instead of  matchy-matchy ideas
I would go for
layering of different patterns and textures.

Accents in jewel tones
red, burnt orange, rust and a hint of gold,
for more oomph and interest.

A little metallic punch here and there
goes a long way in creating a visual interest.

Have fun with styling
and give your space
a richer and more dramatic look.

Happy Thanksgiving

The lovely Diwali weekend is over
and as Thanksgiving approaching...
here, spreading some festive cheer and positivity
from my home to yours.

This beautiful season is all about
colours, flowers, lights and candles,
love, laughter and good food,
family and friends...

My design imprint is Oriental/Eastern inspired
as I love the power of colours...
and fresh flowers
and plants
and all things natural...

Hope all of you had a gorgeous Diwali!

From The Festive Kitchen...Diwali Decor Ideas

Busy time at home
Well, precisely the craziest time of the year.
Cleaning...cleaning and cleaning,
preparation for the pujas,
meeting up with friends,
shopping...
and yes, most importantly the kids are at home.
Hmmm...the school is closed for two days
so, it's a long weekend :)

Diyas, tea-lights and candles
flowers and colours...
textures and patterns,
brass, copper and silverware,
peacock feathers and paisley motifs,
and loads of happiness...
this is Diwali
the biggest festival of India.

What is Diwali without some home made sweets and savouries:)

Diwali Decor ideas

For this beautiful festive season
I would love to go for...
an inexpensive and practical style,
by embracing colours, patterns and textures..
paying attention to the details,
and bringing nature into my decor.

Yes, I covet a beautifully layered yet not cluttered,
warm , cheery and bright space...

What is your style mantra ???
