 Those  Delhi days! Those lovely and lively, colour full, vibrant days. Till now I can feel the warmth...and miss it terribly at the same time.


Long long drives to Rajasthan,Gujarat, Himachal, Punjab.....the NH8 drive, road side dhabas...'makki-di-roti or sarsho-da-shag' , sarsho-ki kheti, matki ki pani, mitha lassi...Diwali-Lohri-Holi....Rajpath-Janpath-GK-CP....those dusty crazy summers...lovely-flowery-chilly winters....all those fairs, a stroll through 'Dilli Haat', it's so nostalgic...

From our innumerable long drives to the 'desert state' we have collected all these  over the years....

So, we had been here...lived there for long...and still miss the flavour....

the azure blue ocean,coconut canopies,idli-dhosa-sambar-rasam,all sorts of coastal foods, kanjivaram silk sarees-gajra, karnatic classical music, bharantyam-kuchipudi-mohiniyattam....

still I can hear the sounds of wave crashing.....

Jaipur and Ajmer are the main centres of production of Traditional Rajasthani 'Gotta Art Work'.

In recent years pure silver yarns are replaced by synthetic yarns...

floral and animal motifs are commonly used...

Needle works from the 'Desert State'

The work was previously done on pure Georgette, Chiffon, Velvet and Silk...whereas as in recent years synthetic fabrics are used for the production. The colours commonly used are Red, Orange,Yellow, Pink, Maroon and Magenta :)

South-East Asia and India has long been correlated culturally and this is my humble way to showcasing 'The Great Indian Art and Culture' at the backdrop of this 'Oriental World'....

The vibrant Indian colour scheme plays as an instant mood up lifter :)
